Sara celebrates her #1 World Ranking and World Cup Victory.

The 2018 Archery Outdoor World Cup kicked off this past week in Shanghai, China. Shooters from around the world competed for medals, world cup points and world ranking positions. Hoyt Pro Shooter, Sara Lopez did what she has done countless times before; shot her way to the top spot on the podium, taking home the Gold Medal and earning the #1 World Ranking for female compound shooters. Joining Lopez on the podium were fellow Hoyt shooters Chen Yi-Hsuan winning silver and So Chaewon claiming bronze. All three shooters trusted their Hoyt Prevails to outlast the competition through several days of shooting.

Hoyt Shooters Sweep the Women’s Compound Division, taking Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Not to be outdone, Kim Jongho rolled through the competition in the men’s compound division, qualifying #1 and eliminating competitor after competitor in head-to-head matches on his way to the Gold Medal. Jongho was shooting the Hoyt Prevail with ease through his matches, holding steady and landing 10 after 10.

Calm and confident, Kim Jongho lands another perfect arrow during the Stage 1 World Cup finals.

Like Lopez, Hoyt shooter Brady Eliison has many podium finishes in World Cup matches over the years and the 2018 Stage One was no exception. Ellison wasted no time shooting his way to the podium with his Formula Faktor equipped with Carbon X-Tour limbs, taking home a silver medal.

Spectators packed the stands in downtown Shanghai to watch the best shooters in the world compete head to head. Ellison, a fan favorite, gave them plenty cheer about on his way to the podium.

World Cup Stage 2 will take place in Antalya, May 20-26. Watch for details and updates on Hoyt.com and on @HoytTargetArchery Instagram and Facebook.
